The annual Femme Film Texas Festival will launch on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hideout Theatre at 617 Congress Avenue in Downtown Austin. Admission is $5.00 and tickets will be available for purchase at the Hideout Theatre Box Office starting at 6:00 p.m. on the day of the show.
The festival will feature films and videos directed, written and produced by women. All of the proceeds from the festival will help fund our programs to teach filmmaking and media literacy to young women and girls.

Femme Film Texas Festival Guidelines
Films
We accept narrative features, narrative shorts, documentaries, documentary shorts, experimental/video art shorts and youth shorts that have been written, produced or directed by women. Please read more about film categories and qualifications below.
Please Note: All films in languages other than English must be subtitled or dubbed in English unless dialogue is not essential to the comprehension and appreciation of the work.
Deadlines and Fees
Please note: College and Graduate School Students are limited to submitting short films in the Narrative Short, Documentary Short or Experimental/Video Art Short Categories, and will pay the Student/Youth Short Fee for each deadline.
Early Deadline: March 30, 2007

Preview and Screening Formats
Preview copies must be NTSC DVD (Region 0 or 1), or NTSC 1 ½” VHS formats.
Your film must be available in NTSC DVD (Region 0 or 1), Beta SP, or Digi-Beta Video for screenings.
Returns and Acknowledgments
VHS tapes, DVDs, and press materials will not be returned under any circumstances.
Include a self-addressed, stamped postcard for each submission if you wish acknowledgment of the receipt of your entry.

To enter your film, please complete the following steps:
- Download and complete an entry form on our website.
- Enclose payment via check or money order.
- Enclose any press kit information you may have available.
- Enclose a self-addressed, stamped postcard if you wish to acknowledge receipt of your submission.

Film Categories and Qualifications
Please note: College and Graduate School Students are limited to submitting short films in the Narrative Short, Documentary Short or Experimental/Video Art Short Categories, and will pay the Student/Youth Short Fee for each deadline.
Narrative Feature
The Narrative Category is open to any fiction, feature-length films (60 minutes or longer) that were either written, directed or produced by women.
Narrative Short
The Narrative Short Category is open to any fiction films under 40 minutes that were either written, directed or produced by women. Animation is also included in this category.
Documentary Feature
The Documentary Category is open to any documentary, feature-length films (60 minutes or longer) that were either written, directed or produced by women.
Documentary Short
The Documentary Short Category is open to any documentary films under 40 minutes that were either written, directed or produced by women.
Experimental
The Experimental/Video Art Category is open to any experimental films under 25 minutes that were either written, directed or produced by women.
Youth
The Youth Category is open to films and videos under 25 minutes that have been written, directed or produced by young women and girls ages 10 - 18.
Film Competitions
We will be awarding the “Best of Fest” in the following categories:
- Narrative Feature
- Narrative Short
- Documentary Feature
- Documentary Short
All awards will be announced on the closing night of the festival.
